Reservation Policies
By submitting credit card information through our online portal, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these following policies:
Cancellation Policy:
To cancel or reschedule, please email us at least 72 hours in advance of your rental to receive a full refund minus a 15% processing fee. Deposit will be forfeited if less than 72-hour notice is given. Total booking will be forfeited if less than 24-hour notice is given.
Raincheck Policy:
If our staff determine that it is unsafe to leave the dock for the day due to severe weather, we will keep your deposit to be fully applied to a future rental – deposit is non-refundable. If severe weather limits the time able to be out safely, we will adjust your rental fee accordingly. Most times in the summer, storms/showers move through the Chain of Lakes area rather quickly, and we can work around any rain & weather. Unfortunately, members of a rental party canceling or not feeling well are not valid rescheduling/refund excuses as last minute cancellations prevent us from renting the boat to another party.
Gas Policy:
Boats leave with a full tank of gas and you are only billed for the gas used. Gas is filled by Anchor Pointe Marina upon return and billed separately to the credit or debit card on file.
Insurance:
Anchor Pointe Marina has partnered with an insurance carrier to provide coverage up to $100,000 for the renter if an accident occurs. Policy coverage varies and prices range from $8 to $35 depending on insurance coverage selected. Renter’s insurance is required to rent from Anchor Pointe Marina and a minimum $8 insurance policy fee will be paid directly to the carrier via the primary renter at check in.
Temporary Damage Hold:
There is a $250 temporary damage hold ($100 for non-motorized watercraft) put on a major credit or debit card at check in which is returned when the boat is returned in the same condition it was rented. Part of the temporary damage hold may also be applied towards a balance owed for replacement of lost equipment, cleaning/late fees, or gas used.
Cleaning Fee:
An additional $100 cleaning fee may be charged if extra cleaning is needed for excessive trash, food, bait, fish remains, stains, mud left on anchors, etc, as this takes longer to return the boat back to the condition in which it was rented. Renters are responsible for removal of their garbage and personal items.
Driver’s License/Credit Card Policy:
A valid driver’s license is required for any primary guest or person driving which will be presented at the time of check in. The name on the credit card on file must match the name of the primary renter(s). Illinois law requires boater education for anyone born on or after Jan 1, 1998 operating a motorized vessel over 10 HP.
Phone Reservations/Walk-ins:
An additional $15 fee will be assessed to phone reservations and walk-ins as these reservations create more workload for our staff – we utilize this fee to reward our staff for their hard work.
